Bomb Blown Up On St Pete Beach

Military Blew Up A Bomb Today On St. Pete Beach

July 19, 2015. Check out the video below. It has been a strange day on the beach.

Earlier this morning someone noticed a strange object in the surf.

The Bomb squad came to the scene and checked out what looks like an old military device.

The object is about 4ft long with a cone shape on one end and covered in barnacles. It was later determined to be a WW2 Flash Bomb.

After local police were called they decided to evacuate the beach and local houses on Sunset Way from 22nd Ave to 28th Ave.  This is in the area of Pass-A-Grille Beach which is south of the Don Cesar on St. Pete Beach, FL.

Around 5 pm the bomb squad did a controlled explosion.

Below is a video showing the bomb being blown up on St. Pete Beach.

Not a normal day in the sun. But thanks to all the members of authority our beaches are again safe to enjoy.
