Information on 2015 4th of July Fireworks on St. Pete Beach.

If you are planning to be on St. Pete Beach for the 4th of July fireworks it is always good to know where the fireworks are being launched from because that part of the beach will be blocked off. That includes all walk ways onto the beach.

Where will the 2015 St. Pete Beach Fireworks be launched?

This year 2015, they are going to be launched on the beach – yes that may seem obvious but in previous years they have also launched them from a barge in the ocean.

Which Beach Will Be Closed?

They will be launching the fireworks from Upham Beach. A large area of Upham beach will be used as the launching area. Upham is the North end of St. Pete Beach.

The three main walkways onto Upham beach including the Paradise Grille will be closed at 6pm.

The metered parking will not be effected so you can park there early and walk along the beach before it closes.

Can I Bring My Own Drinks To The Beach?

No – alcohol is not allowed on St. Pete Beach at any time. There are many beach bars that you can visit that often have specials and entertainment. These bars are right on the edge of the beach with beach access.

My Craft Fair Corey Ave Visit

It is the weekend for the Corey Avenue Craft show and of course I had to take a look around. Every year hundreds of crafters and artists show off their amazing work and it well worth a visit.

I like to look for unusual and unique crafts for myself and sometimes if I am really on the ball I will shop ahead for gifts.

This year is was not too hot out and we were even blessed with a light breeze making the stroll along Corey Ave. very pleasant.

My 2015 Purchase

I enjoyed looking at everything and saw lots of things I would love to own but settled on one very cute turtle. Yes, I have a thing for turtles but this one is different because she was made from a car hood. A Toyota car hood. How cool is that?

The artist who made my turtle and many other stunning sea creatures is a beautiful young lady called Ashley Brown. Ashley is a car metal artist and is currently studying at St. Pete College. Good luck Ashley on your ventures and thank you for my beautiful and loved turtle.

Take a trip down Corey Avenue and see what you find to love and bring home. If you are lucky there will be a craft show. If not every Sunday they have a fresh market.

Rain Did Not Stop 4th of July Fireworks

2013 4th of July Fireworks On The Beach!

Thank You Everyone Who Came Despite The Rain

Fireworks St Pete BeachSt. Pete Beach had a crazy week of heavy storms that caused many to wonder if we would have our usual fireworks on the beach this year.

If you were here on vacation the week leading up to 4th of July then you know what I am talking about – day after day of thunderstorms. Heavy rain for most of the afternoons and lots of indoor activities.

For the locals it was a nice reprieve from the intense summer heat and we actually had some waves to play in.

I felt bad for the tourists who planned their trip to our wonderful beach to coincide with the firework displays and 4th of July celebrations. I am sure many were wondering if they should have stayed home, but those wet tourists that stuck it out were treated to an amazing display.

I know the businesses here on the beach are very grateful that despite the on and off heavy rain right up until the fireworks went off at 9pm, visitors packed the hotels, filled the parking lots, drank in our beach bars, swam in the sea, shopped and had fun all day.

Thank you for enjoying our beach!

St Pete Beach Meteor Shower Watching August 2012

St Pete Beach Meteor Shower Watching August 2012

Head to St Pete Beach this weekend and you stand a great chance of watching an amazing Meteor Shower.

If you love watching shooting stars then look up between 11 pm and 4 am on August 11, 12 and 13th 2012 for the best opportunity for seeing the Perseids Meteor showers.

Best places to watch the Meteor shower near St Pete Beach

Head to the beach!  I am going to go to an area away from the larger hotels because the darker it is the better chance we have of seeing this amazing display of nature. What better place to watch a Meteor shower than on the sand at St Pete Beach.

Head out to sea! If you are lucky enough to own a boat then this would be an amazing way to star gaze and get all the darkness you need.

No boat? There are many places that do sunset boat trips. I want to give a big thumbs up and shout out to Dolphin Landings Charter Boat Center – Captain Dan plans some amazing sail boat trips that harmonize with natures wonders. See if he still has room for his evening Shooting star trips or ask about the blue moon trip on August 31, 2012. Call: 727 360 7411 for trip information.

Corey Avenue – browse the shops, stop for a drink at one or two of the bars and then keep walking away from the stores (past the theater) to the end. It is pretty dark by the water at this time of night (early morning).

Find your own little place of darkness and if you can stay awake long enough enjoy natures display of shooting stars this weekend on beautiful St. Pete Beach.

P.S. – August 31st is the night to see a blue moon!
